Computer Studies

Objectives

• The focus of the course is to cultivate at least three aspects of information literacy in students: effective management of information (i.e., collecting, selecting, evaluating, and using information) and a positive attitude towards using information technology.

• To cultivate students to be good digital citizens who can use information safely, legally, and responsibly, and can engage in lifelong learning voluntarily.

• The course should take into account individual differences among students, enhance students' confidence, and cultivate their attitudes and abilities for self-directed learning.

• To cultivate students' interest in information technology and gradually master its basic knowledge, skills, and attitudes.

• Develop students' common abilities through different activities.

• Promote the use of information technology by students in various subjects, thereby achieving the goal of actively seeking relevant information and solving various problems in learning and daily life.

• Actively develop the Edmodoworld learning community platform, intranet, and office365, making information technology a tool for students to organize, express, communicate and share learning achievements.

    Features of the course

    • Our school's computer course will teach students different computer knowledge, application software skills, and information literacy according to their level.

    • In grades one to three, in addition to learning computer drawing and document applications, students also cultivate an interest in programming through the Coding Galaxy game.

    • In grades four to six, the high-level CoolThink@JC computational thinking education (App Inventor/Scratch) is added to enhance students' creative, problem-solving, collaborative, and discriminative thinking abilities. Through project research and inter-school competitions, students can fully realize their potential.

    • In terms of cultivating students' moral education, the course not only teaches students to use the Internet and respect intellectual property, but also incorporates elements of life education to help students develop good communication and attitudes.

    • Our school has established STEAM elite classes, information pioneers, campus reporters, virtual reality (VR) production classes, and drone training classes, allowing them to learn higher-level computer knowledge, serve their classmates, and give back to the school.
