Volkov: recovering an image's overwrited version

[edit]

Article(s): Category:Andrey Volkov (alpinist)

Request
the file has an old, overwrited versione Yevgenyevich Volkov.jpg&action=history but it's another person Category:Vladislav Volkov. Is it possible to recover it? Thank you in advance MrKeefeJohn (talk) 13:10, 1 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Graphist opinion(s)
@MrKeefeJohn: Recovering the file is easy enough (it was never technically gone), but do you know what the source of the original photograph is? The earliest file versions don't have this info and the info that was added was from the overwritten, current version. ReneeWrites (talk) 14:20, 1 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@ReneeWrites: no, I dont' have sources. I didn't upload it. MrKeefeJohn (talk) 15:15, 1 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@MrKeefeJohn and ReneeWrites: Here's the source of the cosmonaut photo/ PawełMM (talk) 06:16, 2 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@MrKeefeJohn and ReneeWrites: However it looks like the VRT permission ticket only verifies the image uploaded in 2008 and not the original 2005c image. For that you will have to get permission from the author unless it is clearly in the public domain or freely licenced. Ww2censor (talk) 22:06, 3 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@PawełMM and ReneeWrites: I do understand. Thank you for your answers. MrKeefeJohn (talk) 20:08, 6 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

To put de PDF pages file in portrait mode

[edit]

Article(s): future Wikisource entry of "Intencionais" by António Aleixo

Request
The author of this poetry book, António Aleixo, died in 1949, and by the Portuguese law, after 70 years of his dead, his written works enter in public domain. I intend to create a Wikisource entry of this book and think the pages of the PDF should be in portrait mode. Is it possible for you to do this? Thank you, GualdimG (talk) 21:00, 9 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Graphist opinion(s)

I gave it a try, at my computer the rotated pdf-file looks fine, but it looks very narrow when it is uploaded, the aspect ratio seems gone, sorry --Bodow 14:14, 17 January 2025 (UTC)

second attempt looks okay--Bodow 14:32, 17 January 2025 (UTC)
@--Bodow, ̊̊Thank you so much. Greetings, ̴̴̴GualdimG (talk) 16:59, 17 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Pakistan election maps

[edit]

Article(s): These maps are all in the infoboxes of the elections in question on en.wiki and some other language versions.

Request
These maps need two improvements; the background needs making transparent, and they need cropping tightly around the outside of the map/inserts. The insert showing Karachi could also be moved in order to allow even closer cropping (which would mean the map displays at a larger size) as was done in this one. Cheers, --Number 57 (talk) 23:05, 16 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@PawełMM: Could the cropping be done a bit more tightly (so there is no space around the extreme edges of the maps? Also, you cropped out the left-hand edge of the box around Karachi in the 1990, 1993, 1997 and 2002 maps and the bottom edge of the box in the 1993, 1997 and 2002 maps. Could someone crop this so that it's from just below the shoulders upward? If it can be lightened a bit that would be great too. --Marchjuly (talk) 05:59, 31 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

logo of Jet Rescue Worldwide Critical Care Air Ambulance

[edit]

Article(s): Wikidata page for Jet Rescue

Request
Please extract the Jet Rescue logo into a new file for use as logo identification for the company Wikidata page. The logo can be seen above the 4 windows of the bizjet, and says "Jet Rescue Worldwide Critical Care Air Ambulance" along with the blue ambulance symbol and 3 black bars. The new file should be placed in Category:Jet Rescue Air Ambulance --65.92.246.77 22:51, 3 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

 Not done - Cropping to the logo would be a copyright violation. The logo in the above image is considered to be de minimis, but cropping to the logo would not be. – Pbrks (t • c) 23:12, 3 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Would it not be a PD-SIMPLE logo? File:Best Western logo.svg comes to mind as an even more sophistocated logo that is PD-US-simple, and Jet Rescue is a U.S. company as well, listed with the BBB as Boca Raton FLA [1] -- 65.92.246.77 04:22, 5 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think so. The logo contains an image of a silhouette airplane. – Pbrks (t • c) 14:49, 5 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

3 Strada Corbeni, Bucharest

Article(s): not intended for any specific article

Request
I was hoping someone might manage a rectilinear panorama of this (under a separate filename, please). Mine has too much curvature and also the proportions in the upper portion of the building are scrunched. --Jmabel ! talk 04:43, 7 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
